It now stands over the previous Arab mosque; hence, it sports a Moorish external that displays the graceful Moorish, Renaissance and Gothic styles combined.

There is still a belfry on the old minaret top; the interior displays Arabic calligraphy on the arches, street door and other parts. The ancient Arab mihrab or more commonly known as prayer room lies exposed.

Casa de Mondragón was once the Moorish kings’ palace which is open to the public for viewing today. There are three patios which have preserved stuccowork with a fantastically carved ceiling. A local museum stands tall housing much of the local archeology and Moorish artifacts in Ronda.
